TEAM PENNING AT LATIGO DUDE RANCH!

Many of the Rodeo events cowboys compete in today originated in common ranch activities. One of those activities continues today throughout the West -sorting cattle for shipping, doctoring, weaning, etc.

In recent years a competitive version of that sorting skill- team penning - has taken the West by storm.

Team penning gives cowboys a chance to demonstrate their skills in working cattle by horse. A team of three riders has to sort three stubborn, herd-bound cattle from a herd and move them into a small pen, a challenge that demands skills both in controlling a horse and in understanding cattle.

This coming summer, one day each week guests at Latigo will have the opportunity to prove that you can learn faster than an old cow! You will be divided into teams for some good-natured cowboy fun to see who can get the cows into the pen without touching the cows, without running weight off of them, without abusing your horse and without losing your friends. All except the latter are longstanding traditions in the West.

Come try to accomplish what a cowboy has to do all his life. You might be surprised at what all is involved!
