I am consistently surprised whenever I leave the mountains. My ears are assaulted no matter where we go or where we stay. There's always the hum of a generator, the buzz of traffic, and people are just... everywhere. Coming home to Latigo means that all that noise just... fades away. The only thing I hear is the call of a red-tail up on the ridge or the sound from the train in the valley - sixteen miles away. That's not noise: it's music.
Latigo is all about shutting down the chaos of everyday life, unplugging from the drama, and reconnecting with the things that really matter in life: family, nature, and new friends. Latigo cancels out the noise and just leaves the music.
The same can't be said for other kinds of vacations. Cruises are small floating cities where the noise changes, but doesn't quiet down in the slightest. Amusement parks are fraught with crowds, bells, and buzzers. You may have moments of quiet and luxury at a resort, but it gives you nothing back - it doesn't give you peace.
Latigo is a place where peace and quiet walk together hand-in-hand, where family is more important than luxury, and riding the rollercoaster of our red-dirt trails is all the thrill you need.
