Additionally, Patty Shannon and Dave & Mim Shannon (Lisa's sister and parents, respectively – Randy's in-laws) are also deeply involved in the constant upkeep required on the ranch. They aren't on the payroll, but they're family – and will happily work for food. ;)

Patty is the one who keeps our store stocked and running. She has excellent taste and mad jewelry-making skills, so it's a perfect fit.

Dave pitches in on various maintenance projects and does most of the irrigating in our horse pastures. Good grass means happy horses!

Mim makes the pies for the Friday cookout and helps Lisa keep the machine of the ranch running smoothly with everything from ironing to running into town when the kitchen runs out of milk.

Working at a dude ranch isn't easy. If you've been reading any of the Latigo blogs, you've probably pieced this together by now. We live a life of service, a life dedicated to living the West the way it should be lived, and trying to survive in the mountains, all at once. That is not a recipe for easy. But by pulling together as a team, it is an excellent recipe for a great summer. 

Also joining us for a portion of this summer is Amanda's cousin, Emily Bradburn. She's returned to Latigo after four years and is filling in wherever we need an extra hand. Emily's always good for a laugh or a hard job, and has been an absolute gift.
